BRIDGE GALLERY

Competition entry for foot/cycle bridge over Vistula River in Krakow. The competition asked for a foot/cycle bridge allowing for exhibition of a modern art. The bridge and its entrances should create:
“an open gallery like space and shortcut existing connection over tram bridge as well as to extend pedestrian routs from Kazimierz to Podgorze”.
The proposed scheme creates covered space with
two retail/café spaces at each end.
Vertical central wall and dedicated spots allow for art installation.
Openings within the vertical wall allow for public filtering from one side of the crossing to another while interacting with an exhibited art.
The bridge is suspended between metal frames on riverbanks 210 m apart.
